Full job description

Job Title: Bar / Kitchen Assistant
Location: Harlow Greyhound stadium
Starting Salary: £13.00 - £13.50 per hour depending on experience
Hours: 9-10 hours per week
Contract: Part-time Permanent

Harlow Greyhound stadium is a local independent family run business who have been racing for over 25 years. The current owners took over in the early 2000's and the stadium has gone from strength to strength, now hosting 6 meetings a week. The stadium is currently going through a makeover and in the new year they are looking to expand their team to join them on this new and exciting journey.

Job description

Are you a friendly and an outgoing person that loves to work in a busy and lively environment?
Do you have excellent customer service skills and work well in a team?
Do you love having your weekends to yourself?

If the answers are YES, we want to hear from you Your duties during your shift will include but not limited to;

Collecting glasses
Serving drinks
Cooking
Ensuring customer orders are fulfilled
Delivering great customer service
Loading/unloading glass washer
Cleaning tables
Restocking the bar
Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the bar area
Prepare menu items whilst maintaining portion control and minimising wastage.
Ensure customer orders are fulfilled
Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
Clean and maintain all equipment within the kitchen area.
Report any hazards, unsafe working conditions or equipment which requires repair or maintenance to a supervisor.
Observe safety precautions when using them.
Over 18 years old

Knowledge and Experience

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions
Food Hygiene (not essential)
Oral proficiency in English language
Must be able to work independently

Competencies

Ability to work effectively and contribute to a team
Self-motivated
Reliable
Good communication skills

Shifts

Weekly rota:

Monday and Wednesday mornings 2 shifts per week on race mornings - 9:30am - 13:30-14:15

Race days are Monday, Wednesday

Possibility of over time for holiday cover

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
