Production Assistant
Location: Aspatria, Cumbria (onsite)
Hours: Full Time (Mon-Thur 8.30am - 5pm, Fri 8.30am - 2.30pm, plus 6 Saturdays per year)
Do you enjoy working with your hands, have a great eye for detail, and take pride in producing high-quality products? We're looking for a friendly, organised and reliable Production Assistant to join the Bothy Threads team.
At Bothy Threads, we're passionate about creating beautiful counted cross stitch kits that bring joy to stitchers around the world. Every kit is carefully prepared by our team, and you'll play an important role in ensuring every order meets our high standards.
What you'll be doing
Working as part of our production team, you'll be involved in a variety of tasks including:
- Preparing and pulling threads for production.
- Monitoring stock levels and notifying management when supplies need replenishing.
- Packing cross stitch kits, including paperwork, beads, needles and other kit components.
- Preparing packaging, folding boxes, applying labels and finishing kits ready for dispatch.
- Updating production records accurately on our computer system.
- Keeping the production area clean, organised and efficient.
- Supporting the launch of new products by preparing materials ahead of release.
- Assisting in our Bothy Threads Outlet Shop throughout the week and on a minimum of six Saturdays each year, helping customers and processing sales.
You'll also have the opportunity to support seasonal projects, including preparing our popular Advent Calendars and Sew-cial Boxes, picking customer orders, cutting fabric, printing paperwork, responding to customer enquiries and helping with general warehouse tasks when required.

- Is comfortable using a computer.
- Is flexible and happy to support different areas of the business when needed.
- Has a positive attitude and enjoys helping customers.
- Has an interest in cross stitch or general crafts.
Previous production, warehouse or retail experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
