Full job description

Full-time | Monday-Friday | 40 hours per week | Office based - Nether Stowey

We're looking for a reliable, organised and detail-focused administrator to join our friendly office team.

This is a varied role combining finance administration, data entry and general office support. You'll be working in a busy electrical contracting office where accuracy is essential, helping to keep our office running smoothly while supporting our engineers and management team.

What you'll be doing

Your day-to-day duties will include:

Raising customer invoices using Xero
Coding and processing supplier invoices using Xero / Dext
Reconciling customer payments and bank transactions
Assisting with VAT returns
Collating timesheet information ready for weekly payroll
Typing customer quotations
Recording, scanning and filing electrical certificates and paperwork
Answering incoming telephone calls and responding to emails
Taking customer enquiries and entering job information onto Access database
Assisting with booking and scheduling engineers' work
Ordering stock and office supplies
Providing general administrative support across the office

No two days are quite the same, so you'll be happy turning your hand to a variety of office tasks.

About you

We're looking for someone who:

Has previous office administration experience
Has experience using Xero or similar accounting software
Has excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
Has strong written English and good grammar
Is confident working with numbers and can spot mistakes
Is organised and able to prioritise their workload
Is confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Enjoys working as part of a small, friendly team
Has a positive, practical approach and is willing to help wherever needed

It would be an advantage if you have:

Experience working in a trade, construction or engineering office
Experience using Microsoft Access
Bookkeeping or finance administration experience
