The Role
As a Machine Operative / Construction Groundsman, you will play a key role in supporting our construction and groundwork operations. You will be involved in a variety of tasks, from operating plant machinery to assisting with general site works, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate plant and machinery where qualified.
- Carry out groundwork and general construction duties.
- Assist with excavation, drainage, landscaping, and site preparation works.
- Load, unload, and move materials and equipment around site.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
- Carry out routine equipment checks and report defects.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Work effectively as part of a team to deliver projects on time and to specification.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
✅ Strong work ethic and positive attitude
✅ Reliable and punctual
✅ Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions if required.
✅ Good communication and teamwork skills
✅ Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable :
✅ Previous experience in construction, groundwork, or plant operation
✅ CPCS, NPORS, or CSCS certification
✅ Experience operating excavators, dumpers, rollers, or other plant machinery
✅ First Aid qualification
