We are looking for a solicitor to join the Mills & Reeve Real Estate National Service Line (“NSL”). Based in Cambridge, working under supervision, you will assist partners and other lawyers, undertaking a wide range of commercial property work with a focus towards investment and asset management work.
Areas of work include:
- Property investment acquisitions and disposals acting for both buyers and sellers.
- Acting for landlords and tenants in connection with the grant of new business leases on existing and newly constructed properties.
- Property due diligence in support of real estate finance and corporate transactions.
- General asset management work to include dealing with:
- surrenders
- asset management licences
- easements
- lease renewals
Typical sectors include office, retail, science and technology, mixed-use and hotels and leisure.
Client base
Our client base includes institutional investors and global investment funds, specialist investors and developers, family trusts and private offices, Oxbridge colleges and corporate occupiers with multi-site holdings. The nature of our work and our clients encourages the development of long lasting and fulfilling relationships with both clients and their agents and other advisors.
You will be newly qualified to 2 years PQE or equivalent experience in real estate work (commercial property), gained in a large regional or City law firm.

- Willingness to embed legal technology into day-to-day practice (e.g. document automation, matter management tools, AI-assisted drafting/review), with a focus on practical implementation
- Ability to identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce risk through the use of technology and data
- Desirable:
- Property management and development experience
- Exposure to or interest in legal technology, innovation initiatives or process improvement (e.g. use of document automation, AI tools or workflow optimisation)
