As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Health, Safety & Compliance Manager to take ownership of Health & Safety compliance across the company.
This is primarily an office-based role, managing our Health & Safety systems, documentation, training records, compliance processes, and audit requirements. The successful candidate will also carry out occasional site visits to inspect installation teams and ensure company standards are being maintained in the field.
We are looking for someone to work approximately 2 days per week, with flexibility for the successful candidate to choose their preferred working days.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety Management
- Manage the company's Health & Safety systems and compliance procedures.
- Review and update Health & Safety policies, procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation and industry standards.
- Conduct regular Health & Safety audits and inspections.
Citation & Compliance Management
- Act as the lead administrator for our Citation Health & Safety platform.
- Maintain accurate compliance records and company documentation.
- Monitor and complete outstanding compliance actions within required timescales.
- Ensure the business remains audit-ready and compliant.
Training & Competency
- Ensure all employees complete mandatory Health & Safety training.
- Maintain training records and monitor certification expiry dates.
- Arrange refresher training where required.
- Ensure new starters receive appropriate Health & Safety inductions.
Fleet, Equipment & Team Compliance
- Ensure all company vehicles carry the required PPE, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, signage, and safety equipment.
- Maintain inspection records for ladders, access equipment, and work equipment.
- Monitor vehicle records, including servicing, MOTs, road tax, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
- Book and coordinate MOTs, servicing, inspections, and other fleet compliance requirements.
- Carry out periodic compliance inspections of installation teams.
Warehouse & Office Compliance
- Conduct regular warehouse and office inspections.
- Ensure safe storage practices, good housekeeping standards, and fire safety compliance.
- Maintain equipment inspection and maintenance records.
- Carry out stock and compliance checks to ensure the safe operation of the warehouse.
Site Inspections & Audits
- Undertake occasional site visits to inspect installation teams and monitor safe working practices.
- Complete internal office and site audits.
- Manage compliance requirements for BBA and IAA accreditations.
- Prepare for and support external audits and inspections.
- Ensure audit actions are completed and documented.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain accurate Health & Safety records and documentation.
- Produce regular compliance reports for management.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement practical solutions.
- Support the continued development of Health, Safety and Compliance standards across the business.
About You
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety, Compliance, or H&S Management role.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Good understanding of current UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of compliance activities.
- Practical, proactive, and detail-oriented.
- Full UK Driving Licence
