Overview

We are a small animal practice based in the heart of Somerset, providing first opinion care to local clients and patients, while also being the UK's leading stem cell therapy clinic providing a well rounded approach to all things osteoarthritis for patients across the country, and beyond!

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, supporting our veterinary surgeons, and ensuring the well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities

Assisting veterinary surgeons during consultations, surgeries, and procedures with confidence and professionalism
Administering medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the vet
Monitoring anaesthetic patients and providing post-operative care
Maintaining accurate patient records in accordance with practice and RCVS protocols
Supporting laboratory work such as sample collection, analysis, and processing to aid diagnosis
Providing compassionate client communication regarding pet health and treatment plans
Ensuring the cleanliness and organisation of clinical areas, including kennels and surgical suites
Educating pet owners on preventative healthcare and post-treatment care instructions

Skills

Proven veterinary experience with a strong understanding of animal health care practices
Laboratory experience to assist with diagnostic testing and sample processing is advantageous
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Compassionate communication skills to support clients and their pets
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail ensuring accuracy in record keeping and clinical procedures
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a dynamic practice setting
