Junior Design Engineer required to support the develop of in-house & customer products for the play and leisure industries worldwide. Value engineer existing ranges, build prototypes and progress designs through production. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a fast-paced hands on team, where product development is central to the company's continuing success.
Reporting to: Senior Design Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Product Updates - Execute changes and efficiency refinements to products, updating CAD, product data and supporting documentation. Ensuring all changes are implemented and understood by production staff.
Bespoke Customer Designs - Work on one off customer requests for variations of standard products.
CAD - 3D modelling, 2D technical drawings, instructions, BoM creation and product data management.
Prototyping - Oversee the production of new products through programming, machining and assembly. Build, test, iterate, review and refine designs. Improve production efficiencies, documentation and packaging.
Testing - Design test methods and equipment to carry out component and product testing. Measure and record required criteria, document findings and provide solutions to failures.
Project Management - Manage a range or projects over different timescales to specific deadlines ensuring priorities are balanced, reviewing progress with managers.
Standards - Ensure all products are inspected and compliant with the relevant European and US standards.
Training & Support - Communicate information on new products and updates to other departments ensuring smooth implementation.
Problem Solving - Resolve unexpected issues quickly to ensure production of products is not delayed.
One Off Projects - Undertake other project work specified by managers.

Education and Training:
- Degree qualified in Industrial Design / Product Design / Engineering or equivalent
- IT literate (See IT skills below)
- Experience preferred but graduates will be considered
- Track record in technical design and problem solving
- Previous individual and team working experience
- Fluent in 2D and 3D CAD

Salary
£26,000 - £30,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience

40hrs/week (08:00 – 17:00, Mon – Fri)
