An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Support officer to join our Youth Justice team at Hampshire County Council.

The Role:

The Hampshire Youth Justice Service is a multi-disciplinary team which works with children aged 10-18 years old who are at risk of offending or re-offending and subject to a range of community and custodial interventions.

Within the service there are a wide range of professionals including specialist practitioners in mental health, Police, Probation, Restorative Justice, Parenting and Education, Training and Employment. This combined multi-disciplinary team allows Hampshire Youth Justice Service to function at the highest level.

What you’ll do:

Provide direct business support for Hampshire Youth Justice Service working closely with operational staff, managers, and customers in a highly sensitive environment.
Under supervision maintain, update and extract information from systems.
Assisting with the collection and collation of information relevant to the service.
Respond to, and resolve where appropriate, telephone, face to face, e-mail and postal enquiries.

What we’re looking for:

Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in providing business support within a public sector, youth justice, or social care setting (desirable).
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, record-keeping, and document preparation.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case management systems.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with internal teams and external partners.
A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving and supporting operational needs.
Understanding of safeguarding principles and the importance of accurate documentation in youth justice work.

Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems, processes, and legislative requirements.
