About us
We are Family run Cafe looking for a Cafe Assistant to join our team. we are open (Monday-Saturday, 7:30am-6:30pm) The workplace is on St Aldates road, Ox1 1BT
We are looking for passionate and friendly staff.

(Please note that coming into the cafe and handing in your cv will increase the likelihood of you to be hired, as we can do a short interview on the spot if we are not too busy.)
Experience in working within a busy, independent café / coffee shop is highly desirable, But what’s equally important is you as a person. It’s a small team who need to work well together, and do what is needed to keep our customers happy and our high standards of customer service maintained. It gets very busy too so someone who is able to work well under pressure is going to be key.
We are a fun bunch with a very strong and loyal local community of customers. We’re proud of what we do, and want to continue to deliver great tasting food and coffee with a smile on our faces. So if you think this is you then please apply.
(We are currently changing into a micro bakery, so a lot of small refurbishments will be happening time to time and love to have someone wanting to see the café grow while working here)
Job Types: Full-time, Zero hours contract
Full time: 30- 40 per a week
Pay:£ 13-£13.50 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and take orders.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace.
- Prepare and serve beverages and food items according to customer requests.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Ensure all food safety regulations are followed.
- Clean and restock work areas as needed.
For every job there is a four week probation period. During that period staff will be paid the minimum wage. Following a positive and successful appraisal after this four week period the rate can increases to £13-£13.50 per hour dependent on experience and progression. Staff under the age of 21 may be paid at a lower rate.
Trial shifts: for working in the cafe will be unpaid unless you get the job, we normally do 1 shifts of 1 hour during a busy session while supervisord to see how you adapt in the cafe.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Oxford: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
