Role Overview:
Design, build, and operate the CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and platform tooling that underpin client
software delivery. Ensure all platforms are secure, observable, and aligned to client DevSecOps practices and
Azure standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines supporting continuous integration, delivery, and
deployment of client services.
- Provision and manage Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and Bicep).
- Configure and maintain Azure platform services including WebApps, EventHub, KeyVault, Azure SQL,
Application Insights, Log Analytics, and Logic Apps.
- Implement and manage container platforms and orchestration for containerised workloads in cloud and
hybrid environments.
- Establish and maintain observability tooling including logging, metrics, alerting, and distributed tracing.
- Integrate security tooling into pipelines (SAST/DAST, vulnerability scanning, secrets management).
- Ensure infrastructure configurations align to client security baselines, CIS benchmarks, and CAF 4.0.
- Support onboarding of development teams to platform tooling and client engineering standards.
- Manage environment segregation (dev, test, production) and controlled release processes.
- Maintain documentation for platform architecture, runbooks, and deployment procedures.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud-native architecture patterns.
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Bicep.
- Extensive Azure DevOps experience (Pipelines, Boards, Repos).
- Experience with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes or equivalent).
- Understanding of cloud security, identity management, and DevSecOps tooling.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline design including automated security gates.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tooling (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics).
DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Azure certifications (e.g. AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-500).
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud and data centre integration.
- Familiarity with NCSC Secure by Design and CAF 4.0.
- Experience with legacy integration patterns.
Additional Information
This role requires eligibility for SC Security Clearance. Candidates without existing clearance will be supported through the vetting process upon appointment.
Please note that attendance in Taunton, Somerset, a minimum of two days per week, is a firm requirement of this engagement.
