Job Overview
Looking for new factory assistant to help out and learn from experienced operators on our machines, and in the factory more generally. Role will be varied and will involve work on different machines, as well as helping with general duties, such as loading lorries. Some experience in steel factories will be helpful and keen candidates with a good work ethic will stand out.

Training will be given for engineering knowledge, materials, factory admin, health & safety, CNC machinery operation and hand tools, either practically in the workshop or in the office.
Key Abilities
- Good ability to learn on the job in practical tasks
- Good attention to detail, with clear and organised thinking
- Good basic skills with hand tools and measuring instruments. (Such as good experience with DIY and mechanical repairs)
- Ideal to have general ability with basic factory equipment, such as cranes, lifting gear, grinders and forklifts
Other requirements and Experience
- 1+ year's experience in heavy steel engineering
- Basic knowledge of materials and factory processes
- Basic knowledge of factory health & safety
- Good attention to detail and able to complete job cards and reports
- Able to communicate effectively and work as part of a team
Salary
£13.00/hr, to rise over time as candidate gains experience and able to take on new duties
Working Hours
4 days a week, Monday to Thursday. Full time 37.5 hours a week, and overtime when required. Fridays off unless overtime is required.
