Key Areas of Responsibility, Duties and Deliverables Expected:
Responsibilities
-
Take ownership of the inbound raw material supply to ensure uninterrupted production.
-
Expedite raw material deliveries from suppliers to ensure material availability in line with production requirements.
-
Monitor system-generated MRP recommendations and convert material requirements into supplier delivery schedules.
-
Proactively chase suppliers to recover overdue raw material deliveries and minimise production downtime.
-
Monitor raw material stock levels, safety stock, lead times and inventory requirements to prevent shortages and excess stock.
-
Identify potential raw material shortages, supplier constraints and logistical issues, implementing contingency plans where necessary.

Work closely with Procurement and Planning to ensure raw material demand is accurately communicated to suppliers.

Liaise daily with suppliers regarding delivery performance, capacity constraints and shipment schedules.
-
Monitor supplier performance and escalate material supply risks to the wider business where appropriate.

Maintain accurate ERP data relating to purchase orders, delivery schedules, supplier confirmations and inventory records.

Support raw material planning activities during the implementation and ongoing development of the SYSPRO ERP/MRP system.
-
Monitor freight movements, shipping schedules, Incoterms and transport routes to ensure on-time delivery of raw materials.

Produce reports and analyse supplier delivery performance, material shortages and inventory trends using Microsoft Excel and ERP reporting tools.

Work collaboratively with Procurement, Production, Logistics and Quality teams to resolve raw material issues quickly and minimise disruption to manufacturing.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve supplier delivery performance, inventory accuracy and material availability.

Required Education, Skills, Training and Experience
Skills
Essential:
-
Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SYSPRO experience would be highly advantageous).

Strong understanding of raw material planning, inventory management, supplier scheduling and production requirements.

Knowledge of stock control principles including safety stock, lead times, reorder planning and inventory accuracy.
-
Experience identifying and managing material shortages and implementing contingency plans.
-
Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyse inventory, supplier performance and planning data.
-
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to influence suppliers and build strong internal stakeholder relationships.
-
Ability to prioritise multiple material issues simultaneously within a demanding manufacturing environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Desirable:

Knowledge of Incoterms, freight routes, shipping documentation and international logistics.

Understanding of steel, aluminium or other manufacturing raw material supply chains.

Experience monitoring supplier KPIs and delivery performance.

Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies within supply chain or materials management.

Experience supporting ERP/MRP implementation or optimisation projects.
Experience
Essential:

Previous experience within an automotive or fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Proven experience expediting raw materials or managing inbound material supply within a manufacturing environment.

Experience working closely with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of raw materials.
Desirable:

Experience purchasing or planning raw materials within an automotive manufacturing environment.
