Nexphase Energy is looking for a reliable Electrical Labourer / Apprentice to join our growing electrical installation team.
This is a practical, hands-on role working alongside our existing team, primarily carrying out domestic EV charger installations, along with other electrical installation work as required.
The role can also be offered as an apprenticeship for somebody looking to develop a career in the electrical industry while gaining substantial practical, site-based experience.
A full UK driving licence is essential, as driving is a key part of the role. You will be required to drive a company van to installation sites and must meet the eligibility requirements of our company vehicle insurance. Due to our current company vehicle insurance requirements, applicants must be over 23 years of age.
We're looking for somebody practical, hardworking and reliable who wants regular work, is interested in developing their electrical skills and wants to become a long-term member of the team.
What you'll be doing
- Driving the company van to installation sites
- Working alongside our electrical installation team
- Assisting with EV charger installations and other electrical work
- Running cables internally and externally
- Installing data cables
- Drilling and routing through walls and floors
- Installing containment including conduit, trunking and cable clips
- Mounting EV chargers and associated electrical equipment
- Loading and unloading tools and materials
- Preparing installations ready for electrical completion and testing
- Keeping tools, equipment and the work area organised
- Helping keep installations organised and moving efficiently throughout the day
What we're looking for
- Full UK driving licence – essential
- Must meet our company vehicle insurer's requirements, including being over 23 years of age
- Any current penalty points or driving convictions must be declared
- Able to get to the Stafford area for early morning starts
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable driving a Transit Custom-sized van
- Hardworking and physically capable
- Practical and comfortable using hand and power tools
- Able to follow instructions and established installation methods
- Able to work at a good pace while maintaining a good standard of work
- Organised and willing to use initiative
- Flexible and willing to help wherever required
- Previous electrical, construction or trade experience is useful but not essential
- An interest in developing a career within the electrical industry
Apprenticeship Opportunity
For the right candidate, this position can be offered as an electrical apprenticeship, combining formal electrical training with substantial practical site experience.
We can accommodate one day per week for college or apprenticeship training, but you must be available to work with our installation team on site for the remaining four working days each week.
This is intended to be a genuinely hands-on apprenticeship. You will work alongside the team on real installations and progressively take on more responsibility as your skills and knowledge develop.
Pay & Work
- Regular work, currently up to five days per week
- Apprentices must be available for four days per week on site, with one day available for college or apprenticeship training
- Working hours and finishing times can vary depending on the day's installations
- Some days may finish earlier once scheduled work is completed
- Starting from £90 per day for the Electrical Labourer role
- Apprentice pay will be agreed separately depending on the apprenticeship arrangement and experience
- Pay reviewed as skills and responsibility develop
- Company van provided for work-related driving

We're looking for someone who wants to become a useful and dependable long-term member of the team, rather than somebody simply looking for occasional labouring work.
Our current workload is busy, so applicants should be looking for regular work and be available throughout the working week.
You must be able to get to the Stafford area early each morning ready for the day's work.
