Afsar Williams Solicitors is a well-established and growing law firm with an excellent reputation for providing high-quality legal services. Due to continued expansion, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Family Law Paralegal to join our busy Family Department.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop their career within a supportive and progressive firm.

The Role

The successful candidate will assist our Family Solicitors in managing a varied caseload, including:

Divorce and matrimonial matters
Financial Remedy proceedings
Private Children Act matters, including child arrangements, prohibited steps and specific issue applications
Preparing court bundles and legal documentation
Drafting witness statements, applications and correspondence
Liaising with clients, courts, barristers and third parties
Managing files in accordance with SRA and firm procedures
Providing outstanding client care throughout each matter

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

Previous experience working within a Family Law department, minimum of two years.
Practical experience in matrimonial matters, financial remedies and private children's proceedings.
Excellent drafting and communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
A professional, empathetic and client-focused approach.
Excellent IT skills and attention to detail.
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Desirable

Experience using case management systems.
LPC, SQE or equivalent legal qualifications (desirable but not essential).
Advocacy experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
