Full job description

JOB PURPOSE:

Raise UK Export and Import customs declarations ensuring full compliance formalities are met.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

General

· Raise Customs declarations for both UK Export and Import shipments as well and other forms of customs documentation.

· Cross-training with the European Road Freight team

· Liaise regularly with hauliers, overseas offices, partners, agents, and clients.

· Update systems with shipment and costing information as required.

· Customs clearance using internal systems.

· Resolve any issues during the shipping period, communicating any delays to the relevant departments.

· Build strong internal and external working relationships with customers, colleagues & suppliers

· Proactively work on identifying improvement opportunities and effectively implement any changes.

· Sending invoices via Email, Post or any method customers require.

· Help manage email inboxes

· Keeping a record of charges and current rates in place for certain customers.

· Ensure customers are invoiced in a proactive timely manner and within a certain timeframe.

· Supporting internal departments where required on daily operational tasks.

· Adhere to all Health & Safety relating to your role, site, and colleagues.

· Undertake other responsible tasks that may be required from time to time as directed by the needs of the business and/or your Line Manager.

· Complete internal training courses as and when required

Customs experience desired but full training is provided

Pay: From £25,000.00 per year
