Working as part of the laboratory team, using digital and analog workflows, the post-holder will be required to deliver, maintain and develop a high quality and dynamic Restorative and Maxillofacial laboratory service for the benefit of our patients at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Responsibility for supporting the Laboratory Manager/Chief Technician in the daily operational management of the Maxillofacial, Orthodontic and Restorative laboratory.
Exhibiting highly specialist dental technology, judgement and analytical skills, the post-holder will be required to provide a comprehensive technological service in primarily Restorative (Prosthodontic) and Maxillofacial specialities with some Orthodontics in the provision of patient-centred surgical and reconstructive care.
Employ conventional and digital design and manufacture of bespoke complex appliances/prostheses for the Restorative, Maxillofacial and Orthodontic Services.
Engage with the wider clinical teams at OUH, including colleagues from ENT, Plastics and Ocular.

Job Summary
To deliver, maintain and develop a high quality and dynamic technical service for Restorative Dentistry, Maxillofacial and Orthodontic patients at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. To assist in delivering the digital modernisation programme in the clinical and technical laboratory workflows for the benefit of patients.
Management and Leadership
Responsibility for supporting the Laboratory manager/Chief Technician in the daily operational management of the Maxillofacial, Orthodontic and Restorative laboratory. This will involve mentoring and guiding junior laboratory technicians. The post holder will provide necessary leadership to this team and wider department with specific emphasis in the digitisation of patient care.
Clinical/Technical
Exhibit highly specialist dental technology skills, providing a comprehensive technological service in primarily Restorative/Prosthodontic and Maxillofacial specialities with some Orthodontics in the provision of patient-centred surgical and reconstructive care.
Use judgement and analytical skills to interpret, understand and to assess suitability of requested work and provide technical options and solutions.
