Vulcan Interior & Fire Solutions Ltd is a specialist passive fire protection contractor delivering high-quality fire stopping, compartmentation and fire door projects across the UK. We pride ourselves on quality workmanship, compliance and exceptional customer service, working across the student accommodation, residential, commercial and healthcare sectors.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join our team.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of passive fire protection projects, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
You will act as the main point of contact on site, managing operatives, subcontractors and client relationships while ensuring full compliance with company procedures and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of construction sites.
- Supervise operatives and subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with specifications, third-party accreditation requirements and relevant fire safety standards.
- Carry out regular quality inspections and ensure any defects are rectified.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed and that operatives work in accordance with approved RAMS.
- Complete digital QA and compliance records using OneTrace.
- Liaise professionally with clients, principal contractors and other stakeholders.
- Attend site meetings and provide progress updates.
- Monitor project programmes and report any delays or issues.
- Order and manage materials, plant and equipment.
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained on site.
- Assist with project handovers and completion documentation.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within the construction industry.
- Experience managing passive fire protection projects, including fire stopping, compartmentation and/or fire door works.
- SMSTS qualification.
- CSCS Black or Gold Card.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work to programme deadlines.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and work away from home when required.
Desirable
- Experience using OneTrace or similar digital QA/compliance systems.
- Knowledge of IFC, BM TRADA or other third-party certification requirements.
- Temporary Works knowledge.
- Additional construction management qualifications.
