Job Overview

Broughton Manor Prep School - Help support the Chef manager with a number of dutys - Monday - Friday 7.00-15.00
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen eye for food safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in catering, cooking, and restaurant operations within a professional setting.

Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food service, ensuring timely delivery of dishes to customers or staff
Support the kitchen team in food safety and hygiene practices, including cleaning and sanitising work surfaces and equipment
Prepare ingredients by peeling, chopping, and measuring as required for various recipes
Help with the organisation of stock, including receiving deliveries and storing supplies appropriately
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area throughout shifts, adhering to health and safety regulations
Assist in serving food to customers or staff when necessary
Support the team during busy periods by performing additional tasks as directed by senior staff

Experience

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous
Experience in meal preparation, food handling, and general kitchen duties will be beneficial
A proactive attitude with good organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure is essential
Familiarity with serving procedures and customer service is a plus
