We’re recruiting for an experienced Electrical Build Technician to join a busy operation where you’ll play a key role. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable company that offers a supportive team environment.
You will work as an Electrical Build Technician for a worldwide brand in our factory in Droitwich, Worcestershire. To provide an efficient build, assembly and test service for all UK capital products, prioritising work to meet deadlines and delighting internal and external customers with the quality of service and product.
Relationships:
Reporting to: Operations and Planning Manager
Responsible for: No direct reports
Liaison with: All stakeholders of Sencon, including customers, agents and distributors, internal colleagues, suppliers and partners
Key Accountabilities:
Carry out electrical wiring, control system outfitting, configuration and test of electrical panels for capital products (can making machinery) according to engineering drawings (on 24v DC control panels with a limited AC component).
Complete the build, configuration and test of capital equipment according to the production schedule in a timely manner. Ability to work from schematic diagrams, drawings or verbal instructions.
Ability to work on own (from electrical drawings) and as part of 2-3 man electro- mechanical team.
To ensure product build quality is of the highest standard, and when necessary contributing to improving documentation, methods and operating systems.
To assemble wiring looms and cables from drawings (including fine soldering).
To support the workshop supervisor and ensure a safe, tidy and secure environment is maintained.
To have a 'hands on' role during the assembly and repair process to identify and resolve day to day build and test issues, and to ensure long term fixes are introduced that will prevent reoccurrence
To design and build any test equipment and procedures required for quality testing products
Other Duties:
Maintain good and effective communication with all stakeholders, including internal colleagues, and work flexibly and positively as part of a small team within the wider workforce

To contribute if required to the design and build of any test equipment and procedures required for quality testing products
Liaise with the quality engineer to feedback modifications and improvements to the design of product
To have a hands on role during other assembly and repair process to help when needed identify and resolve day to day build and test issues, and to ensure long term fixes are introduced that will prevent reoccurrence
Key Competencies:
Able to wire control panels
Good electrical fault finding and problem solving skills
2-5 years experience of general machine and panel electrical wiring and testing
Sound technical competencies with the ability to work from engineering drawings and information
Well organised, whilst being flexible and responsive to the needs of colleagues and customers
Self motivated, being able to work with the minimum supervision from drawings and verbal or written work instructions.
Perform limited computer controlled operations.
Preferred but not essential competencies:
Apprenticeship trained (or similar)
Experience of building electronic/electrical subassemblies from schematic diagrams, drawings or verbal instructions and following works order instructions to ISO9001 standards.
Wire and solder wiring harness and cable assemblies, PC boards, SMT, transformer assemblies, control consoles, connectors, etc.
