Cost Accountant

? Location: Redditch
? Salary: £38K - £45K DOE + Highly Competitive Benefits

Are you an experienced Cost Accountant with a strong background in manufacturing? This is an excellent opportunity to join a global leader within the manufacturing sector, where you'll play a key role in maintaining standard costs, managing inventory records, and supporting financial reporting.

What You'll Be Doing:

Managing and maintaining standard costs, including annual cost roll updates in SAP.
Analysing and reporting on inventory, ensuring accurate records and timely reconciliations.
Preparing reports on inventory aging and calculating provisions for obsolete and slow-moving stock.
Supporting annual physical inventory counts, reconciliations, and variance investigations.
Posting accurate and timely journal entries, ensuring general ledger integrity.
Performing SOX controls and supporting external audits with timely responses.
Conducting balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals, prepayments, and inventory provisions.
Providing financial reports and supporting budget and forecast preparation.
Investigating cost trends and working closely with operational teams to identify efficiencies.

What They're Looking For:

Part/Fully qualified CIMA/ACCA (or equivalent) - or strong relevant experience.
Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with a solid understanding of standard costing.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends and resolve potential issues.
Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
A proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail.

This position is based in Redditch and is easily commutable from Bromsgrove, Studley, Alcester, Droitwich, Alvechurch, Evesham, Birmingham, Solihull, Worcester, Kidderminster and Stourbridge.
