About the Role
Northern Fells Group is seeking two enthusiastic and reliable Youth Workers to support the delivery of engaging summer activities for children and young people across the Caldbeck and Rosley areas.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a successful and well-regarded summer programme that provides fun, creative and inclusive activities for local young people in a rural community setting.
The successful applicants will help deliver a range of activities including arts and crafts, sports, outdoor games, bushcraft, and creative sessions. You may also occasionally work alongside visiting sports coaches, artists, and other activity providers.
Key Responsibilities
· Support and deliver safe, engaging and inclusive activity sessions for children and young people
· Help plan and prepare activities and resources
· Encourage participation and positive behaviour
· Work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers and external activity providers
· Ensure the wellbeing and safety of all participants at all times
· Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational procedures
· Assist with setting up and clearing away activities and equipment
· Maintain positive relationships with children, families and the local community
About You
· Enthusiastic, approachable and organised
· Passionate about working with children and young people
· Able to work independently and as part of a team
· Flexible and willing to support a variety of activities
· Reliable with good communication skills
Experience and Qualifications
Essential:
· Ability to work positively with children and young people
· Access to your own transport, as travel between rural locations is required
Desirable:
· Experience working with children or young people
· Experience in youth work, teaching, sports coaching, outdoor learning or similar settings
· Paediatric First Aid qualification
Additional Information
· Mileage costs will be subsidised (up to a maximum of 20 miles per day)
· No weekend working required
· This role is based across the Caldbeck and Rosley areas, therefore your own transport is essential
· Enhanced DBS check required (funded by Northern Fells Group)
· Paediatric First Aid training can be provided and funded if required
