We’re looking for a dedicated technical intern to join our proactive technical team at the Mowlem, who will support the day-to-day operation of the theatre’s technical systems, assisting with live events, performances, and cinema screenings. Our spaces include a 380-seat auditorium, studio and Showbar. This role provides hands-on experience in lighting, sound, staging, and general theatre production including:
●Assist in setting up and operating lighting, sound, and AV equipment for performances andevents including Purbeck Film Festival, The Loneliest Whale, Simon Yates, Opera Up Close,live music, comedy acts and more across all spaces.
●Support stage setup, including rigging, staging, and scenery changes
●Help with get-ins and get-outs (loading/unloading equipment and sets)
●Operate technical equipment during live shows under supervision
●Assist with cinema screenings, including projection and audio setup
●Perform routine maintenance checks on technical equipment
●Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times
●Provide general backstage support to performers and visiting companies
●Assisting the work of the Technician and Senior Technician as required
Pay: Up to £30.00 per week
