Full job description

We are seeking an experienced, organised and motivated Project Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to lead projects that deliver the Nursing Directorate's strategic priorities and improve services for patients and staff.

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, you will manage a portfolio of projects from initiation to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to a high standard. Working with senior clinical and corporate leaders, you will develop project plans, monitor progress, manage risks, oversee governance arrangements and produce high-quality reports to support effective decision-making.

You will build strong relationships with stakeholders across the Trust, ensuring projects remain aligned to organisational priorities and deliver measurable benefits. You will also provide expert project management support, driving collaboration and continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside executive leaders, influence strategic programmes and contribute to improvements that make a real difference to patient care, staff experience and organisational performance.

Project Planning and Delivery

Manage the full lifecycle of projects, from initiation and planning through to execution and closure, ensuring that all project deliverables are met.
Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive project plans, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and goals.
Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
Ensure project milestones are met, resolving issues and managing dependencies effectively.

Stakeholder Management

Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and senior management, to ensure project alignment with organisational goals and stakeholder expectations.
Facilitate effective communication and engagement, ensuring stakeholder needs are considered throughout the project lifecycle.

Governance and Reporting

Establish appropriate project governance frameworks, ensuring that progress is regularly tracked and reported to the Chief Nursing Officer and senior leaders. Provide updates on risks, issues, and performance metrics.
Conduct post-project evaluations and disseminate lessons learned to inform future work.
