A highly organised and enthusiastic Plant Sales Co-ordinator who will assist and support the sales team in preparation and submission of quotations, orders and reports. Liaising with subsidiary plant teams and manufacturers as required. This is a junior role to start with.
Working for the market leader in heavy plant lifting equipment sales, rental and aftercare the Plant sales coordinator will join an organisation with over 60 years’ experience supplying heavy lifting equipment to the shipping, mining and construction industries of West Africa.
The ideal Co-ordinator will be technically minded with experience of managing customers, suppliers and manufacturers, preferably within the heavy lifting industry. A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritise their workload in a busy, pressured environment are key. Enthusiastic and problem solving mind set required.
Responsibilities:
- Support the French and English-speaking Sales Managers in building new and existing client leads, updated spreadsheets.
- Preparing plant offers against company requirements.
- Ensuring that all customer queries are handled quickly and efficiently including monitoring and managing the company website enquires passing on the relevant departments to action.
- Utilising supplier on-line databases for pricing and technical assistance where required to complete offers.
- Assisting marketing department with email flyers for new, used and stock machines to be sold.
- Obtaining freight rates from external freight companies, supplier logistic departments and via our own logistics team.
- Processing and placing orders
- Assisting with tender requests, compiling specification details to requirements, obtaining relevant documentation, liaising with suppliers and preparing offers to specific deadlines
- SharePoint. Creation and management of SharePoint for sales engineers to access remotely.
- Keep generally up-to-date with data sheets and presentations as well as with general sales documentation.
- Assisting ISO team with development and maintaining company records.
- Comply with PSAL Group employee handbook, policies & procedures. Incorporating contractual employment obligations.
- Undertake work freely and address pending requirements promptly and professionally
- Sales reporting
- Collate data from Sales Engineers
- Compile monthly reports for Principals based on updates supplied by Sales Engineers including hot offers, orders won and lost in that period
- Manufacturer’s stock lists: filter data to show current new and used stock availability, convert to pdf and send to all sales engineers and marketing for use in future sales and marketing information
- Marketing data: use data provided from detailing the number of hits and interest on the company website.
- Provide assistance as required to regional plant sales managers for sales lead follow up as required.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous relevant industry experiance
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise own workload in a busy pressured environment
- Good level of education (Mathematics and English GCSE or equivalent)
- Responsible & Reliable
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Self starter
- Computer literate, strong demonstrable knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel
- Able to demonstrate strong administrative and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail with a good level of numeracy
- French language skills would be beneficial but not essential
- Diplomatic and effective communicator (written and verbal) and able to communicate across many cultures, countries and communicate clearly to customers and suppliers with whom English is a second language.
