Job Summary

Arun Integrated Care Primary Care Network (PCN) Ltd, is seeking a motivated, proactive and organised PCN Manager to lead the operational delivery of our Network Contract DES and support the continued development of innovative, high-quality primary care services.

Our PCN comprises 3 GP practices serving a combined population of over 38,000 patients across, East Preston, Rustington & Littlehampton. Working in partnership with our CD, Partners, Managers, you will play a key role in shaping the future of local primary care. This is a varied role with responsibility for the operational management, supporting the delivery of national and local priorities, workforce planning, financial oversight, governance, quality improvement and the implementation of new initiatives. There is also a requirement for strong people management skills. Main duties of the job

As PCN Manager, you will provide operational leadership across the AiC Primary Care Network which operates as a Limited Company, working closely with the Clinical Director, PCN Board and member practices to deliver the Network Contract DES and achieve the PCN's strategic objectives.

You will lead on the day-to-day management of the PCN, supporting workforce planning, financial management, service development, project delivery, governance and contractual requirements. The role also involves working collaboratively with GP practices, the Integrated Care Board (ICB), neighbourhood teams and wider health and care partners to strengthen integrated working and support the development of local neighbourhood services.

This is a varied and rewarding role requiring excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, with the opportunity to lead service improvements, manage multiple workstreams and contribute to the future transformation of primary care, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients and local communities.

Job responsibilities

The PCN Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across AiC Primary Care Network (PCN), ensuring the effective delivery of the Network Contract Directed Enhanced Service (DES) and supporting the achievement of the PCN's vision and objectives.

Working closely with the Clinical Directors, PCN Board, GP Partners and Practice Managers, the post holder will oversee the day-to-day operational management of the PCN, leading on service development, workforce planning, financial management, governance, quality improvement and contractual performance.

The role will play a key part in developing collaborative working across the three member practices and with wider system partners, supporting the delivery of integrated neighbourhood services and contributing to the wider objectives of the Surrey & Sussex Integrated Care Board (ICB).

The post holder will lead and coordinate projects that improve patient care, reduce health inequalities, strengthen multidisciplinary team working and ensure the PCN remains responsive to national NHS priorities and local population needs.

The PCN Manager will provide professional leadership, build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and support a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and collaboration across the Network.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent, or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge gained through relevant experience.
Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above.
Knowledge of the NHS, Primary Care Networks and the Network Contract DES.

Desirable

Degree or equivalent qualification in Healthcare Management, Business Management, Leadership, Public Health or a related subject.
Leadership or management qualification (e.g. ILM, CMI or equivalent).
Project Management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent).
Qualification or training in Quality Improvement, Change Management or Service Improvement.

Experience

Essential

Managing operational services within a healthcare or NHS setting.

· People management - Managing teams, including recruitment, performance management, absence management and employee relations.

Leading and delivering projects or service improvement initiatives.
Managing multiple priorities and meeting competing deadlines.
Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and a range of stakeholders.
Financial management, budget monitoring or resource management.
Interpreting and implementing policies, procedures or contractual requirements.
Preparing reports, analysing data and presenting information to support decision-making. Use of digital technologies in healthcare
Managing change and supporting service development.
Organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook.

Desirable

Experience of working within Primary Care, a Primary Care Network (PCN) or General Practice.
Experience of working with NHS contracts, including the Network Contract DES.
Experience of workforce planning, recruitment or ARRS workforce management.
Experience of working with Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), neighbourhood teams or other system partners.
Experience of governance, quality improvement or performance management.
Experience of managing NHS digital systems and data reporting.
