Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our cafe/deli establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage teams effectively and ensure excellent customer service. Duties
- Assist in supervising daily store operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of service.
- Lead, motivate, and manage team members to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Oversee merchandising activities, maintaining visual standards and stock organisation.
- Support sales management initiatives, including promotional campaigns and product placement strategies.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling staff, maintaining records, and preparing reports.
- Provide training and guidance to new team members, fostering a positive team environment.
- Maintain effective communication with staff and management, ensuring clarity of goals and expectations.
- Manage phone etiquette when interacting with customers and suppliers professionally.
- Organise stock deliveries, inventory checks, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven management or supervisory experience within retail or similar environments.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; multilingual or bilingual abilities are advantageous.
- Demonstrated organisational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and administrative tasks.
- Experience in sales management, customer service, or retail management is highly desirable.
- Proficient in time management, prioritising tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining professionalism.
- Strong organisational skills complemented by good phone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in merchandising, stock control, or related areas is beneficial.
