Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Multiskilled Wash Plant Engineer / Manager to lead and maintain our state-of-the-art washing operations. This role combines technical expertise with hands-on management, ensuring the efficient functioning of equipment, adherence to safety standards, and seamless coordination across teams. The ideal candidate will possess a broad skill set encompassing mechanical, electrical, and fabrication knowledge, along with strong leadership capabilities to optimize plant performance and deliver exceptional service.
Duties
- You will be responsible for the efficient day to day running of the production facility and in particular the preventative maintenance to ensure 80 % plant production time
- Oversee daily operations of the wash plant, ensuring maximum efficiency and safety compliance
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment using hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques
- Read and interpret schematics and electrical diagrams to diagnose issues and implement solutions
- Conduct equipment inspections, identify potential failures, and execute necessary repairs or replacements promptly
- Manage assembly and installation of new machinery or upgrades, ensuring proper mechanical and electrical integration
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators and forklifts for material handling and plant setup
- Coordinate with team members to schedule maintenance activities while minimizing operational downtime
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance logs, schematics updates, and safety inspections
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols by conducting regular safety audits and training sessions for staff
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing operational concerns promptly and professionally
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in fabrication, welding, soldering, and assembly processes
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting electrical systems
- Hands-on experience with equipment repair, maintenance routines, and heavy machinery operation (excavators, forklifts)
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools effectively
- Knowledge of electrical systems combined with mechanical expertise for comprehensive troubleshooting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs or installations
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to equipment troubleshooting and repairs
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and providing clear instructions or updates
- Customer service orientation with a focus on safety standards and operational excellence
Hours of work 7am till 5.30 Monday to Friday .
Candidates should have a detailed knowledge through qualification and or experience of all aspects of mechanical and electrical elements of maintenance and be prepared for a hands on role working on all aspects of the plant
