Full job description

Join Wrexham AFC because history doesn’t write itself.

The Role

To support the delivery of high-quality coaching within the Foundation Phase, ensuring young players are developed in line with the club’s playing philosophy and Academy Performance Plan.

Main Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and review coaching sessions that are age-appropriate, engaging, and in line with the Academy philosophy.
Support the holistic development of players across the Foundation Phase (technical, tactical, physical, psychological, and social).
Create a safe, fun, and inclusive learning environment for all players.
Work closely with the Foundation Phase Lead and multidisciplinary staff to ensure the effective development of players.
Support matchday coaching and review performance with players.
Contribute to player reviews, ensuring constructive feedback is provided to aid progression.
Ensure safeguarding and welfare standards are upheld at all times.

About you:

Passionate about player development and grassroots/academy football.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Ability to create a positive learning environment.
Flexible and committed to evening/weekend availability.
Works well in a team and open to feedback.

Experience and Qualifications required:

UEFA B (working towards) coaching qualification (minimum).
FA Youth Modules / Introduction to Coaching Football desirable.
Valid FA Safeguarding Children Certificate.
Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF).
Previous experience working with children in a coaching capacity.
