The Obsessed Group is hiring a Sales Executive to bring UK business owners into the Obsessed platform. You'll find them, qualify them and close them. A separate team will handle the onboarding after that.
This is not a role where you sell one product. Obsessed is a growth platform for ambitious business owners - accounting is the entry point, and there is a full stack of advisory programmes, memberships, and expansion services above it. You will be trained to sell across the platform, not just accounting.
What you'll be selling
A quick view of the platform, so you know what you're walking into:
● Obsessed Accounting - accountancy for ambitious UK business owners. The entry point for most clients.
● Obsessed Advisory - a stack of programmes including the Academy, exclusive events, 1:1 training, and in-person events.
You will be trained rigorously on all of it.
What you'll do
● Generate your own pipeline of UK SME business owners who need better financial and strategic partners.
● Prospect through whatever combination of channels works - LinkedIn, email, phone, events, referrals, in-person. Whatever gets results.
● Hold discovery calls, understand what the business actually needs, and match them to the right Obsessed offer - accounting, advisory, or a combination.
● Close the sale. Get them signed.
● Hand off to the team for onboarding, then move to the next one.
● Track everything in the CRM.
Training
Product training before you're expected to close deals is provided. You'll learn about the offers, price points, ideal client profile, every common objection. Ongoing training continues after that as new expansion services launch.
What we're looking for
● Someone who's done B2B outbound and closed their own deals before. Ideally in professional services, financial services, or high-ticket SME sales - but attitude and tenacity matter more than sector.
● Genuinely comfortable with rejection. This is outbound sales - most conversations end in no.
● Consultative, not transactional. You should enjoy understanding a business before quoting, not just running down a script.
● Self-directed. You will not be micromanaged and you will not be given a script to read.
● Sharp on written communication. Most first touches will be email or LinkedIn message.
● Wants to earn more than the base.
What we're not looking for
● Someone who needs hand-holding to get started every day.
● Someone whose CV is a list of BDR roles they left after 6 months.
● Someone who thinks sales means "I answer inbound leads".
● Someone who wants to sell one product on repeat and finds learning a multi-tier platform tedious.
● Someone who can prospect but doesn't want to close (see below - there is a different route for you).
What you get
● Hybrid working - meetings in our Essex office, the rest wherever you work best.
● Direct reporting line to the founder.
● Full CRM, tools, and marketing support so you can focus on selling.
● 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Pension via NEST.
The interview process
We vet hard. If you make it through screening, expect:
● A first call with the founder - 30 minutes.
● A working interview - you'll build an outbound plan for a specific ICP and present it. We'll give you the brief; you tell us how you'd attack it.
● A final call with the team you'd be working with.
If you're not comfortable being tested on the actual work before we hire you, this is not the role for you.
If you can source but you don't want to close
We also run a self-employed introducer programme for people who can generate warm introductions to business owners but don't want to run the sale themselves - retiring accountants, IFAs, mortgage brokers, well-connected consultants, and anyone else with the right network.
If this sounds more like you than the Sales Executive role above, tell us when you apply and we will speak about the introducer route specifically before interview.
How to apply
Apply with your CV and a short note telling us:
● The last B2B outbound role you did and what you actually generated in it - clearly defined numbers.
● If you're applying for the introducer route instead (see box above), say so and tell us about your network.
Pay: £28,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
Application question(s):
- What have you sold before, and what was the average deal size?
- How many UK business owners do you currently have direct access to - e.g. you could email or call them tomorrow and they'd know who you are?
- If we hired you Monday, how would you generate your first ten qualified leads?
- How many new clients do you realistically think you could close in your first month, third month, and sixth month?
