Your next role

Opportunities have arisen to join the Registration and Bereavement Services Teams as a Casual Deputy Registration Officer or Casual Chapel Attendant.

The role of Deputy Registration Officer will include becoming a wedding/civil partnership registrar and celebrant delivering a specialist service for the service. The role includes registering all life events, including births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships. Other responsibilities may include copy certificate issue and reception cover.

As a Chapel Attendant you will be trained in this is a very important role, ensuring that all services at the Crematorium run smoothly.

For both roles you must be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy as well as an empathetic and understanding manner. The role can be emotionally demanding as well as subject to competing priorities so evidence of your ability to work under pressure and make decisions is essential.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).

For the role of Deputy Registrar, you will need the ability to travel throughout the Borough for wedding ceremonies, so access to a car is essential.
