Full job description

Overview
Due to continued business growth, we are inviting applications for a full-time Laboratory and Administrative Assistant to begin early September 2026.

Our laboratory operates 7 days a week and this full-time position will involve working weekdays and some weekend days on a permanent or rota basis to assist and support our veterinary, administrative and laboratory team in our multi-disciplinary laboratory and pathology departments. Flexible working may be considered for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Receive laboratory samples and input data on our database record system
Receiving and making telephone calls to clients and colleagues
Filing
Assist in the preparation and analysis of samples in accordance with documented SOP's.
Maintain accurate records using paper record sheets and electronic database records system
Conduct routine quality control checks to ensure the integrity of laboratory results.
Keep the laboratory environment clean, organised, and well-maintained.
Support our veterinary, administrative and laboratory team in our multi-disciplinary laboratory and pathology departments.

Ability to follow written and verbal instruction.
Ability to work flexibly with enthusiasm.
Demonstrated willingness to learn.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work in high-throughput environments.
