Here at GXO, we’re looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join our Infrastructure Finance team, supporting Wincanton’s prestigious EDF contract across our distribution sites. This is a varied and demanding role, central to the successful delivery of supply chain services into the Hinkley Point C build programme, a project helping Britain achieve Net Zero.
This is a full-time permanent position. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, 09:00 till 17:00 with a requirement to work from our Weston-Super-Mare office 4 days per week. However, some flexibility is required, this is logistics after all!
Pay, benefits and more:
We’re looking to offer a salary of £30,000, depending on experience and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Prepare monthly financial reports to support accurate and timely customer invoicing
- Support month-end processes, including journals, reconciliations, and closing activities
- Maintain and reconcile ledger accounts, ensuring strong financial controls and accuracy
- Produce KPI and non-financial reporting to support operational and contractual performance
- Work closely with operational teams and stakeholders, providing finance support and insight
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Experience working in a finance role within a high-volume, complex environment
- Currently studying or planning to study towards AAT, CIMA, or ACCA
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to question data and dig beneath the numbers
- Confidence working with finance systems/ERP software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- A collaborative, proactive mindset with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
