Salon and Reception Manager – Oxford

Blushes is a busy, established hair salon in Oxford (Little Clarendon Street) is looking for a salon and reception manager to take charge of the day-to-day running of the business.

You'll be the person who keeps everything moving, from the moment clients walk in to the numbers at the end of the month. That means looking after the team and clients, sorting out issues before they become problems, and making sure the salon is hitting its targets.

The role

Keep the salon running smoothly day to day, including bookings - both on the telephone and online, appointment timing and making sure that stylists have full columns
Be the first person clients and staff come to when something needs sorting
Order and manage stock so the salon never runs short but doesn't overspend either
Pull together regular reports on how the salon is performing
Keep an eye on the numbers and step in early if costs or sales start drifting off track
Make sure the basics are covered, health and safety, client data, stylist happiness.

What you'll bring

You've managed or supervised a team before, ideally in hair, beauty or a similar client-facing business
You can keep a busy, fast-moving day under control without losing your cool
You're a clear communicator, in person and in writing
You've used booking systems before and pick things up quickly
You'd rather solve a problem yourself than pass it up the chain
You understand the importance of running a profitable business
