We are looking for a motivated and organised Working Foreman/Woman to join our growing team working on a range of residential and heritage projects in and around the area.
You will have practical skills in working on elements of the build as well as directing others on site.
Responsibilities
- This role involves both being on the tools producing work and managing the site - approx a 50/50 time split depending on the size of the project.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction teams, including subcontractors, carpenters and labourers, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules
- Oversee the quality of work, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building standards
- Manage daily site operations, including resource allocation, material deliveries, and equipment usage
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate smooth project progression
- Maintain detailed records of work progress, site safety inspections, and workforce attendance
- Assist in planning project timelines using Procore management tools
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to promote skill development and high performance
Qualifications
- Proven experience in general building and carpentry roles with a strong supervisory background
- Management experience in construction projects is essential
- Proficiency in Procore or comparable project management software is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong leadership qualities with effective communication skills
- Relevant qualifications in carpentry or construction management are preferred
- Valid management certification e.f SSSTS or supervisory training is advantageous
Requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle essential
- CSCS card beneficial but not essential
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
- Live within 1 hour of Bruton, Somerset
