Overview:
As the Retail Process & Compliance Manager you will own and strengthen the Retail Process & Compliance framework across UK and Ireland stores, ensuring operational standards are clear, current and consistently applied. The role protects customers, colleagues and the business by governing key retail processes, assuring compliance, identifying risk and offering a subject matter expert service to the business. This includes defining standards, managing audit and assurance activity, overseeing corrective actions and providing insight that helps Retail and Operations leaders improve consistency, reduce risk and strengthen store execution.

Responsibilities:
- Own and maintain the Retail Process & Compliance framework across UK and Ireland stores, ensuring standards are clear, current and consistently applied.

Consult on business proposals through the lens of a store colleague, assessing impacts and providing solutions to ensure operational efficiency is optimised whilst securing the benefits of the change.

Define compliance standards, audit methodology and governance controls for key retail processes, including Challenge 25 and age-restricted sales.

Design, manage and continuously improve audit and assurance programmes to monitor compliance, identify risk and test control effectiveness.

Use audit findings, compliance data and operational insight to produce clear reporting, dashboards and recommendations that help leaders reduce risk, improve consistency and strengthen store execution.

Govern corrective actions arising from audits, ensuring issues are tracked, escalated and resolved in a timely and sustainable way.

Build strong partnerships with Retail, Legal, Health & Safety, Loss Prevention, Finance and Kingfisher Audit to ensure standards remain aligned to business, legal and regulatory requirements.

Maintain accurate governance records, evidence and audit documentation to support compliance assurance and audit readiness.

Lead, coach and develop team members, setting clear priorities, standards and expectations that support strong delivery and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:

Retail operations, compliance, audit or governance experience.
-
Strong understanding of retail processes and legal compliance.
-
Experience designing and analysing audit programmes.
-
Advanced reporting and analytics skills, including Power BI and Excel.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
-
Experience identifying and managing operational risk.
-
Experience in multi-site retail environments.
-
Knowledge of Challenge 25 and age-restricted sales legislation.
