YOUR WASTE. OUR MATERIALS.
Some projects are one of one. Others need making a hundred times exactly the same.
We’re looking for metal fabricators who are comfortable with both.
A big part of the job is production fabrication for our recycling business MYGroup, making frames, pallet boxes, bin units, kiosks and other equipment that needs to be strong, accurate and consistent. You’ll work from drawings, cut and prepare stock, fabricate and weld assemblies, clean and finish your work, and get it ready for powder coat or paint.
Then there’s ReFactory.
When a bespoke furniture, shopfit or creative build comes through the workshop, you might find yourself pulled onto something completely different, working alongside our designers and other makers to turn an idea or drawing into something that hasn’t existed before.
It’s a role for someone who enjoys fabrication and takes pride in getting the fundamentals right but also likes having the occasional problem thrown at them and being trusted to work out how to make it.

ABOUT REFACTORY
ReFactory is the in-house design-and-make function of MYGroup, a Yorkshire waste-management and recycling group that has spent 35 years keeping material out of landfill. Across its sites it recovers just about everything ,ocean plastic, beauty and clinical packaging, scrap timber and metal , and ReFactory is the part that closes the loop, turning that recovered waste into new materials and products. Where capability and creativity meet, even ‘unrecyclable’ material becomes something new.
No two projects are the same, different waste turns up every day, and a lot of the craft is taking it apart and working out what it could become. We've delivered bespoke products and installations for some of the UK's best-known brands, all from material they'd otherwise have thrown away.
Alongside that creative work, our workshop supports the wider MYGroup operation, producing the practical equipment, frames and fabricated products our businesses need every day.
That means there’s a good mix here: production work where consistency matters, and creative work where sometimes the answer hasn’t been worked out yet.
THE ROLE
We want experienced metal fabricators who can take a job from drawing and raw stock through to a finished fabrication ready for coating, painting or assembly.
Most of the day-to-day work is MIG fabrication in mild steel. You’ll measure and cut stock to size, prepare components, weld and assemble fabrications, clean and dress welds and make sure the finished piece is right before it leaves your hands.
Production quality matters. If you’re making a run of pallet boxes, frames, bin units or kiosks, number twenty needs to be as good as number one.
But this isn't only a production welding job.
ReFactory takes on bespoke furniture, retail, shopfitting and installation projects, often using reclaimed and unusual materials. When those jobs need metalwork, you’ll work alongside our designers, joiners and other makers to figure out how to build them.
You’ll:
- Fabricate and MIG weld mild-steel products and assemblies
- Read and work accurately from fabrication drawings
- Measure, mark out and cut metal stock to size
- Prepare components and assemble fabrications accurately
- Clean, dress and finish welds to a high standard
- Prepare finished fabrications for powder coating, painting or further assembly
- Produce repeat and batch work consistently and efficiently
- Check your own work and take responsibility for its quality
- Help solve fabrication problems when a drawing or idea needs turning into something that actually works
- Work on bespoke ReFactory furniture, shopfit and creative fabrication projects when required
- Operate workshop tools and equipment safely and look after what you use
- Keep quality high, waste low and jobs moving to time and budget
- Work safely. health and safety is non-negotiable, and we look out for each other
