The team
As a member of the ITV Cymru Wales programmes department, you will be joining a team of multi-skilled and multi-talented programme makers, who produce award winning content for the people of Wales. From established shows such as Wales this Week and Coast and Country, to newer titles like Backstage and Vanished Wales, our fast-moving team prides itself on providing the very best programming to reflect all aspects of Welsh Life.

The role
The role will involve researching ideas across a number of different series with a particular focus on our Arts programme, Backstage. As well as this, you will generate creative ideas for visual stories and create original treatments to tell those stories in the best possible way, whilst working with Producers to set up filming opportunities, from booking guests to arranging locations. You’ll provide post production support, from loading and arranging material to assisting with the editing of some programme elements, while also generating social media content to help promote our programme brands.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- A passion for Wales and its people
- Proven programming or research experience
- A keen interest in the Welsh arts scene
- An excellent understanding of the elements required to put together a good story for television
- Great organisational skills and attention to detail
- An innovative approach to creating great online content
Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
- Filming and Avid editing experience preferable although not essential
- Demonstrable experience of being able to research to firm deadlines and with excellent editorial judgement and accuracy
- Excellent, relevant contacts with an ability to build trust with people, communities, faiths and races outside of your own to tell their stories
- Knowledge, skills and experience of reaching new audiences on new platforms
- An ability to work within particular guidelines such as Media Law; ITV's health and safety; and our environmental responsibility guidelines
- A good knowledge of Wales and its distinct features
- A demonstrable ability to work well as a part of a team
