About The Role

Civil / Structural Senior Engineer

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Civil / Structural Senior Engineer to join the team in Middlesbrough.

This role will involve supporting civil and structural engineering and design activities for projects, working collaboratively with Principal/Lead Engineers, project teams, clients and other disciplines to deliver high-quality, cost-effective engineering solutions.

Key Deliverables:

To develop and prepare detailed civil and structural design documents, including layouts, reports and calculations.
To support Principal/Lead Engineers in reviewing and checking design deliverables.
To participate in site visits and surveys to gather information for design development.
To engage with cross-disciplinary teams and clients to ensure project milestones are met efficiently and safely.
To generate and present technical documentation and reports, sharing technical insights and project progress.
To uphold the highest standards of quality and safety in line with industry regulations and client requirements.
To contribute to identifying and delivering work process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
To deliver accurate and high-quality civil and structural design documentation.
To ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes and client requirements.
To maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in civil and structural engineering.
To manage multiple tasks effectively and work independently while contributing positively to the wider project team.

Key Requirements / Qualifications:

Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering, such as an MEng or BEng (Hons), or a related discipline.
Chartered Engineer with a relevant professional institution, or working towards Chartership.
Strong knowledge of civil and structural design principles.
Familiarity with STAAD Pro or similar design and analysis software.
Understanding of materials and construction processes used in civil and structural engineering.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
A self-starter who can also thrive in a team environment.
A commitment to ethical and professional standards.
Genuine enthusiasm for engineering and continuous personal development.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
