Job Title: Commercial Trainer - Rail
Location: Lowestoft Campus
Hours: Variable Hours
Contract: Fixed term until 31st July 2027
Salary: VH Lecturer rate of £32.62 (inclusive of holiday pay)

Join East Coast College as a Commercial Rail Trainer and play a key role in developing the next generation of skilled rail professionals. We’re looking for an engaging, industry‑experienced trainer who can deliver outstanding, innovative learning across our commercial rail programmes and support learners to achieve excellence.

Key needs from you and the role;

Ability to deliver outstanding, engaging and innovative learning across commercial rail programmes.
Up‑to‑date knowledge of rail operations, safety, compliance, and technical skills.
Experience with awarding bodies, exam procedures, or moderation is desirable.
Ability to conduct initial assessments, action planning, progress reviews, and track learner performance.

**East Coast College require all staff to hold a minimum Level 2 or equivalent in English and maths, and be able to evidence this.

Please note, candidates who secure a teaching position, but do not currently hold a teacher qualification are required to obtain this within their first three years of employment. This can be provided by the college, however, the employee will be required to sign a commitment form, where they will be eligible to pay fees back should they fail to complete the qualification, or exit the organisation within the committed timeframe. Employees can secure their own funding such as Student Finance for the qualifications should they wish.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and you will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced DBS check with barred list. You will be asked to make a criminal conviction declaration if you are shortlisted for the post.
