What will you receive by working at Finance Box?
Full time salary range is between £37,500 and £45,000 per annum, based on full-time position and experience.
We offer 28 days holiday including bank holidays. We also offer a day of extra holiday for your birthday as unquestioned, automatically approved time off. As long as we have cover in place, we are a flexible company allowing our team to take holiday when they need it - this means that you can work on a bank holiday and instead take a day off another time. Why not... you choose when you work!
The opportunity in the team is full time (Monday-Friday) to be the support our clients need.
We'll contribute to your pension scheme at 8.5% - so that you don’t have to.
We organise team events at least twice a year, to get together and get to know each other better on a personal level. Some previous events have been BBQs, games day, dinners.
For all this, we’ll need some work to be done in return. Here’s what we currently need your support with. You will:
· Manage a portfolio of SME clients across multiple sectors
· Produce and review monthly management accounts
· Deliver variance analysis and commercial commentary
· Review and approve team outputs before client issue
· Prepare year-end lead schedules and TB packs
· Draft financial statements
· Draft corporation tax computations
· Review VAT returns including complex areas (e.g. partial exemption)
· Build robust forecasts incorporating macro-level variables
· Support automation and process improvement
· Act as first escalation point for technical queries
· Cashflow planning, reporting and payments
· CRM maintenance to ensure data is relevant, up to date and reliable.
· Team support for routine admin tasks to support client requirements.
· You will have the ability to communicate effectively and confidently at varying levels with our clients.
· Admin – ad-hoc and general administration assistance as needed from time to time by clients
A large part of the role also include managing a team. You would be the main point of contact and first escalation point for 3-5 team members. You will be their mentor and will handle their monthly 1:1s. Review of their work, report data, and general well-being will be important.
Technical Requirements
We are looking for someone who:
· Has completed AAT Level 4 (minimum)
· Is studying ACCA or CIMA (or qualified by experience at strong level)
· Can confidently:
- Post accruals & prepayments
- Manage fixed asset registers
- Reconcile complex balance sheets
- Analyse variances
- Prepare full lead schedule packs from trial balance
- Review draft accounts for technical accuracy
- Draft corporation tax computations
· Understands VAT at more than a basic level
· Is highly competent in Excel (pivot tables, lookup formulas, logical formulas)
Secondary Requirements
· Confident communicator with clients
· Able to explain financial results clearly
· Comfortable mentoring junior team members
· Organised and able to manage deadlines
