Executive Director — Campaigns in Global Health
About Campaigns in Global Health
Campaigns in Global Health (CGH) is a dedicated advocacy organisation working to accelerate political action and policy change on the world's most pressing health challenges. Through strategic campaigning, parliamentary engagement, and coalition-building, CGH works with decision-makers, civil society, and partners across regions to turn ambition into policy commitment and policy commitment into impact. About the Role
The Executive Director is the most senior leadership position at Campaigns in Global Health, with overall responsibility for the organisation's strategy, operations, external profile, and mission delivery. The postholder will set the direction for CGH's campaigns across the global health landscape, lead its engagement with political and institutional stakeholders at the highest levels, and ensure the organisation is resourced, positioned, and governed to achieve lasting impact.
This is a role for a leader who combines strategic vision with hands-on campaigning experience — someone with deep knowledge of how political change happens in global health, the relationships to open doors, and the drive to build an organisation that punches above its weight – together with the ability to combine that into efficient administration and operations for CGH and the organisations it hosts
Key Responsibilities
The Executive Director will lead the development and delivery of CGH's campaigns strategy, ensuring that the organisation's advocacy priorities are clearly defined, politically credible, and well-coordinated across target geographies and audiences. They will drive CGH's flagship campaigns from inception through to measurable outcomes, overseeing the design of political asks, coalition strategies, communications approaches, and engagement with parliamentary and governmental stakeholders.
The postholder will take personal ownership of CGH's most senior external relationships — with governments, multilateral institutions, parliamentary networks, civil society partners, and funders — and will represent the organisation in high-level forums, conferences, ministerial engagements, and media settings. They will be responsible for growing and diversifying CGH's funding base, leading donor relationships, and making the case for the organisation's work to a wide range of institutional and philanthropic audiences.
Internally, the Executive Director will provide clear and motivating leadership to the CGH team, building a high-performance culture and ensuring strong operational foundations. They will work with the Board to uphold sound governance, manage financial sustainability, and develop the organisation's long-term institutional capabilities.
Note that part of how CGH delivers on its mission is to host aligned advocacy organizations on a common operational platform. The ED will be responsible for overseeing (including budgeting, cash flow and ensuring financial viability) the operations of CGH and its hosted organizations. This includes fundraising and technical grant applications for CGH and hosted organizations, as well as funding and budget oversight for successful applications.
The postholder will monitor the global health policy environment, identify opportunities to advance CGH's mission, and ensure the organisation adapts its campaigns approach in response to political developments, funding landscapes, and emerging evidence.
