The Security Staff are vital to ensuring that our venue, staff, and visitors remain safe, secure, and welcomed. Merging top-tier security expertise with exceptional customer service, the ideal candidate will have the experience and confidence to proactively de-escalate conflicts and, when necessary, manage ejections in a calm, safe, and professional manner.
As our experiences are bespoke with designed costumes for many staff, you may be asked to wear experience appropriate attire along with generally behaving in a manner appropriate to the particular show, as per the Producer or Director of Guest Experiences requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
Operations & Crowd Management
- Capacity Control: Actively monitor guest ingress and egress using clickers when required; proactively report to the Duty Manager when maximum capacity thresholds are approached.
- Queue Management: Efficiently control and organize external and internal queues to maintain safety and flow whilst adhering to Martyn’s Law requirements according to risk assessments.
- Access Control: Conduct thorough, friendly, and efficient bag and person checks. Confiscate prohibited items and immediately escalate illegal or dangerous items to the Duty Manager.
- Crowd & Incident Control: Partner with the Duty Management team on crowd control and respond swiftly to conflict situations or disruptive guest behavior.
- Emergency Response: Execute venue emergency and evacuation procedures safely and efficiently in accordance with Venue Emergency Plans and team briefings.
- Be willing to work across all our Venues, even if predominantly based in one area (currently West Kensington & Peckham Rye)
Customer Experience & Communication
- Guest Assistance: Provide clear, accurate directions, information, and instructions to the audience in alignment with show/production rules.
- Public Relations: Act as a welcoming ambassador for the venue, offering information to interested passersby and signposting guests to further details regarding products, shows, or venue history.
- Site Presentation: Proactively monitor and report on the cleanliness and safety of the entrance and venue perimeter to the Duty Management team.
Administration & Reporting
- End-of-Day Reporting: Contribute to the daily Show Report by feeding back final clicker numbers and detailing any security interventions or notable incidents or suggestions to the Duty Manager.
Licensing & Legal Compliance
- SIA Licensing: Maintain a valid, active SIA Door Supervisor License at all times.
- Licensing Objectives: Strictly uphold and enforce the licensing objectives and requirements set out by the Licensing Act 2003.
- Age Verification: Rigorously implement the "Challenge 25" policy where required.
- Compliance: Adhere to all specific venue license requirements and Temporary Event Notices (TENs).
- Ensure the wider scope of security awareness & training is monitored and upheld including, but not limited to, Martyn’s Law, SCaN, Awareness Counters Terrrorism (including Run, Hide, Tell).
