Overall a good place to work with new machines and housekeeping is very good in the factory itself although the cleaners for the tea room and toilets aren't very thorough. The work is pretty standard for a factory and can border on interesting, I've worked at many factories and whilst alot of them pay more, this is one of the best I've worked at. The plastics manager is very experienced in his field and the supervisors are learning. I know that they always promote these positions internally so starting out as an operator can lead onto a better paying job. If you are local to the place then it's a good job, try not to pay too much attention to the scathing reviews as there are lots of people that work at bg that are perfectly happy. I have only been over to the gaskets factory on my induction so cannot talk for that environment although I will say it seems like 2 different worlds. 

In my time here I found that whilst the pay is minimal it isn't the worst place to work. I actually enjoyed the busy days more as time then goes so fast. The work isn't to hard but can be boring although it can be fast paced. Pretty modern factory with new machines I liked the people and some had been there a long time so I think that says a lot. Issues were quickly dealt with by the manager. Theshifts are a bit different to anywhere I've worked before. Training basic but adequate and you always had someone to ask if necessary. My supervisor was OK if a little unorganised. The manager works day shift only but was very helpful and also understanding. The car park is to small and I damaged my car on the road leading to the site. It badly needs maintenance as does the building. Toilets out of order for long periods of time.

I worked there for a few years and the reason why I left was the change in management! The new supervisor knows absolutely nothing about production, she is more concerned with personal life issues and does like to gossip about everyone else! The manager just sits in her office and doesn’t even speak to you! Production staff are nice but they all get frustrated with the management in factory 2! Don’t do it to yourself, use as a stepping stone and look for somewhere else where you feel appreciated daily!

At first it was a lovely place to work but you truly see their true colours after leaving 
They are awful to new and existing staff with the management knowing barely anything and offering no support to other colleagues. 
Management are very unprofessionally talking about other members of staff openly, about how such people need to buck their ideas up or they are out
The pay for the amount of work asked it’s awful  with no room for improvement, or growth within the company.

Highly recommend working here if you can deal with the monotonous  job. The people are beautiful, friendly, happy and fun. Unfortunately management doesn’t say hello in the mornings unless they need to talk to you or you stare at them waiting for it.... wish management was more positive and appreciated you a little more too.
Hours are 8am till 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am till 2:30 pm on Friday.
Pay was basic at £7.50 an hour when I worked here.

During my time here I have always been treated with respect and I believe some previous reviews have been quite unfair. Management and Supervisors have always listened to concerns and helped when necessary. Work can be monotonous but that’s to be expected in a manufacturing environment. Opportunity to progress comes around and they tend to favour in-house promotion which I think is a great way to keep you motivated. 

Best under pressure is the company slogan.
When they are under pressure they crumble.
No one has the same opinion and you never really know where you stand.
There has recently been a change in management, meaning a lot of experience has gone from the factory over the last 10-12 months and believe me it shows.
“Trainers” in department have very little or no experience of the products and the reject rate is through the roof.

I have worked here for over 20 years. The management style is to involve all employees from all departments. 
The company has been very flexible and fair with my work hours when needed. The company has recently won several new contracts which has meant lots of investment in new machinery. This has also meant more opportunities for progression.

Good environment and atmosphere. Busy factory but everyone works as a team in factory 1 (Plastics). Lots of investment in machines. I felt very welcomed and enjoyed. Manager very good and helpful. He was very involved day to day as we're the directors. I have no knowledge of factory 2.

Im sorry to say it but this place is terrible. They are a law to themselves - no idea of policies or processes. Pile too much work on and then complain when mistakes are made. No team ethos - everyone is out for themselves. 2faced management and supervisors. Lack of knowledge in the office
