The company pays National Minimum Wage and a night shift premium of about 20 pence per hour extra. You work alone at night so no chance to eat or take a break or go to the toilet because you need to be in the shop to keep an eye on the forecourt.  Loads of online training to do which they expect you to do on your own time, on your own ipad at home without any pay. Given uniform to wear but it was second hand and not enough stuff so had to wear same top all week!!  If you want a company fleece to keep warm, you have to pay for it apparently.

It is National Minimum Wage but you are expected to be able to work the till, fill shelves, deal with stock deliveries, deal with petrol deliveries, clean the shop and toilets, bake food in the deli, service the coffee machines and lots of other stuff.  Stock deliveries always seem to arrive during evening so manager has gone home and you are expected to deal with it and then get questioned about any shorts. The expectations are just too high for the money I think.

As other reviews have said, you are paid in cash and you are summoned to the site when it is available for you to collect. So if you don't go, you have to wait for your wages which just isn't fair. Most staff only seem to work a couple of shifts a week so they can claim tax credits as well and the company seems to like this but not great if you want to earn a full week's wage. 

Shift patterns always changing so you never really know when you are working.  Staff are just moved around to suit management without any regard for people with young children like me.

Horrible place to work. Constant breach of confidentiality everybody knows your business. You're ok if your face fits and you pick extra shifts up. Most of the staff are two faced and slag you off behing your back. Staff who aren't very good at the job get better thought of than those who actually work. The regular customers are lovely. If a customer does a drive off and you cannot prove it wasn't your fault (staff error) they will take the value out of your wages. No help from management if you have a problem with a customer or the till. You're expected to serve, stock shelves, clean and bake all at the same time even during busy periods. No proper new starter training you do a couple of shifts as an extra on the shift then you're put on the rota so you don't know how to do things only serve and the other staff don't have time to train you on their shift. You don't learn the baking, the ipad , stock rotation, how to do the costa machines and you don't get shown where things are like the first aid kit or cleaning stuff you're just expected to know.

Worst company Iv ever worked for! 8 hour shifts with no break and sometimes so busy you can’t even go to the toilet. Minimal training then you’re left to run a petrol station alone!!!  then disciplined if you make mistakes. No chance to work up unless you kiss up to management. Work alone during certain shifts so no help or support during busy times. Wages are paid in cash which you have to collect yourself when they let you know they’re ready! You’re constantly monitored on the cctv. No seating given for you to sit down for 5 minutes during the 8 hour shift. Only good thing were some of the regular customers who are great! 
Don’t expect anything special if you work bank holidays or Christmas Eve/New Years eve. No discounts or bonuses given for anything. You’ll have to pay for a fleece if you want one for winter.

Worked on the night shift on the A38 Lichfield. In the middle of nowhere on your own. Dealing with random drunk people. Having to clean the toilets at the end of the night where they've not been sorted in the slightest during the day. Restock all the shop and cook the breakfast baps and treats. Get moaned at for not moving the morning delivery in to certain areas when you have customers to serve. 
Management are bullies like many have said and literally run you into the ground. And then if you're really unlucky the morning shift are late an you have to stay there with no thanks at all. NThey even tried to call me after seeing my cv online and i asked which company amd told them no thank you never going to do that again.

Expect you to serve,stock the shelves, bake & stupid job. Supposed to serve all day without sitting. Toxic atmosphere & culture so stressful having to multitude of jobs for minimal pay. Management are hit & miss long as it suits them. Surprised BP awarded the franchise to these idiots!!. No structure Ill disciplined environment from top to bottom. Can clearly understand industrial (warehouse,factories & cleaning) having a high staff turnover. It’s hard work, serving,stock, replenishing, angry customers & not having proper structured rota.

The place is a joke, the maneger is useless couldn't manage if she tried, the on call supervisor phone would always be on silent  so if there was a problem problem on a night shift it could be dealt with,guilt tripped and blackmailed into doing shift, if you have a disability the managers will play on it to there advantage, no benefits what do ever you even have to pay for the tea you drank at the end of the month, if you are not a manager of supervisor you are treaded like snimal

I worked there for a short amount of time and the management seemed lovely at first but they didn’t even end up training me. I was trained by a member of staff which couldn’t speak fluently so I didn’t really know what I was doing. The managers forced me to work on my birthday which I asked for off because they were short staffed. The place is a shambles you are by yourself for the whole shift trying to manage everything which physically isn’t possible.

I have been a manager for 9 years with AB Forecourts and I absolutely love my job!
It is at times stressful but having a great team around me helps.
My retailer is very supportive to both managers and employees.
After reading some of the reviews I am confident that that they are disgruntled ex employees, we have over 100 staff members, many of which have been with the company a long time and are very happy.

Employed as delivery filler, working three days a week. Ladies are very pleasant and helpful when learning new tasks. Training is in depth and thorough. We’re very accommodating when working around childcare duties. Work day is full, lots to do and own duties to perform as well as helping out as cashier when required. Pay is minimum, could do with being living wage. Overall a good choice I think
