Great if you love doing the same thing over and over again for below the average salary band for the role, it can get very frustrating very quickly.

Learning is on the job, and usually with a teammate as the official training is pointless. E-Learning is available but at best avoided as you can spend days stuck in a feedback loop of corporate spiel.

Management are depressing, they hardly care unless they can use it to get further up the ladder. They use their power to form unstable power blocs, and in some cases build their own little kingdoms; usually at the expense of the workforce.

The workplace culture is at best toxic, the number of people leaving justifies the revolving door into the building. Workers can look forward to being bullied, victimised, and then forced into leaving; for nothing more than your face doesn't fit, you can tell how bad things are when in one month nearly a dozen people left.

The hardest part of the job is trying not to open your mouth as this is seen as dissent, I know how it sounds but it's true. The company is not open to new ideas unless senior management think it can improve the AUM.

I want to say the most enjoyable part of the job is leaving, but that's too obvious; the best part of the job is the rest of the peasant labour that work there.

the manager is disgusting and condescending as is the team leader. They do not care about you, they lie to your face and steal your wages. You are disposable to them. They pride themselves on integrity but have none themselves, they breach data privacy, talk to other employees about your health and personal circumstances, and they bully their staff. 
in your interview you are told that the job is a client engagement role and lied to. For example i repeatedly asked if its cold calling and was told no, and in my time there i cold-called around 100 people a day from third party sources

I would not wish my worst enemy to work here...the staff hate the job and have repeatedly talked about leaving, but are too scared because management is bullies, and if you question them you're out. 
they ignore your emails and teams messages as you try to book clients in for appointments, and when something then goes wrong it is your fault. The manager was sent in to improve the company and has lost half of her staff.

Bullying is allowed and actively encouraged by the management team. When you raise this and go through the correct procedures HR actively work with management to cover it up. Management are all in a clique and the rest of the staff are treated in an appalling manner and paid very poor salaries. 

This is a very toxic place to work and all of the above are examples of why there is such a high turnover off staff and the company are struggling to recruit.

Advisers are full of their own self importance and are also allowed to speak to admin staff in a rude and aggressive manner, when you raise this with management you are advised that this is part of the culture so deal with it.

Don't even get me started on the AFH way...... the blame game, it's that shocking it's laughable and so many hours are wasted playing the blame game instead of just dealing with the issue and moving on!

I really can't think of a stand out good thing about working at AFH

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Supposed support from admin and paraplanners that never materialised to anywhere near the amount that was promised in job adverts or the interview process.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
A complete lack of client centric culture.  Management have forgotten how to support advisers so that they can advise.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Seeing clients and then processing all the resulting paperwork

I've been working at AFH for two years and can genuinely say it's the best place I've ever worked. I no longer have the Sunday scaries and enjoy coming in to work to work as everyone is so lovely and the culture is something to be proud of. 

I can see the difference the People Team have made and overall the company is improving for the best. 

There are some things that could be improved such as processes, time to make decisions and better progression structures within the business. 

I also think the bonus contributions are very low considering it is a financial services company. 

I worked here for a year and a half and was my first ever job, it was good in that sense getting used to working in an office environment but unless you genuinely have a passion and interest in financial services and want to progress to becoming a financial advisor (which takes 10 exams) then I wouldn't bother. As I had no interest in this sector I was soooo bored all day long, the hours dragged and I was clock-watching all day. The girls are all lovely and the hours are good (8-4 twice a week, 9-5 twice a week and 10-6 once a week). My pay was £15,500 a year which is very poor.

A typical day entails corresponding with financial advisers, providers and other departments within the business. You also process several types of business including mortgages, pensions, insurance/protection and account transfers. 
Can be fast paced at busy times and an ability to manage your own workload and work diary is required. 
Good employee benefits such as medical care, pensions and staff events. Compressed working hours are offered whereby you can work longer hours for 4 days of the week and have 3 days off per week.

I worked here for a short period of time and what seemed like a great opportunity at first but it's not all it's cracked up to be! The fact that managers get priority parking outside and the 'peasants' have to park 10 minutes walk away just never sat right with me. It should be first come, first serve. I was expected to take on way more than I should have for my salary bracket and I worked so hard without any recognition. Also it's super clicky and they only look after certain people. The more social you are, the further you get! Sorry but I come to work to actually work and not chat...

Would I recommend that people work for AFH? In short no. 

The atmosphere around the company is not great, tech especially seems down but management thinks everything is good. Head in the sand mentality. 

Team has lost 10 members of staff in a year with no replacements. Upper management should be asking what’s happening and speaking to everyone to ask what’s wrong. 

Management palm as many jobs from them to other staff then main about figures whilst providing little to no support. 

The saying run fast and run far come to mind. 

You are just a number working here and no matter how many years of working for the company, you hard work goes unnoticed. The company way of doing things is old fashioned and they are scared of change. Very clicky at the top, and no one is allowed to make a decision apart from the CEO himself. There is no empowerment for anyone in the company and every decision must go through one person which makes daily project tasks almost impossible. Would not recommend working here!
