During recent Coronavirus crisis PPE was not provided and made mandatory until the worst wave of disease had passed, that is in May! Make sure you're not at Amphenol when next pandemic strikes because as an assembly worker you'll be expected to work through the whole lockdown without PPE or any token of gratitude except an email from the CEO. You'll not be granted key worker status, your holiday will not roll over into the next 2 years but they'll provide you with a paper reading your service is essential just in case you are stopped by the police. Your service is essential but none of the essential workers' privileges apply to you. The management coughs in your face but are arrogant enough to tell you that is not a coronavirus symptom. They'll fire you if you tell them it might be otherwise and that everyone else is at risk from such an irresponsible attitude. Last but not least, employees' children have priority so if you've worked there for over 1 year as agency or temporary-contract worker, they'll chuck you and choose the newbie employee offspring instead even in times of drastic personnel reduction.

Amphenol was one of the most toxic environment I have ever worked in! Although most of the staff were reasonable nice on a personal level the office politics is extreme and there are numerous people in positions who are neither experience, qualified or capable to be in those positions. The management are absolutely diabolical hense the high turnover of staff and failures of the company in general. The management are without any doubt thee most backstabbing users I have ever seen in action. In short I would never work here again no matter how desperate I was and highly recommend if you are considering working here that it is only if you can get no other job as stacking shelves in a supermarket would be better.

A typical day at Amphenol was that I helped scan technical drawings into a PDF format and repaired damaged drawings, as well as helping anybody, such as creating technical documents.

What I have learned from this experience is how an engineering company works and how to operate a 3D printer.

My co-workers at my work experience were very helpful and very knowledgeable at what they do.

The hardest part of the job was during the scanning of the technical documents as it got very mundane quickly.

The most enjoyable part of the job was learning how to operate a 3D printer and seeing how technical drawings are laid out and created.

In my 10 years at Amphenol-Invotec I have gained vast knowledge of PCB manufacturing and LEAN improvement skills.
The workforce are a very hard working team however the facility and management team disappoint on improving staff motivation and development.
The hardest part of the job is coordinating the production on the fast turn around and complex parts we manufacture. Often the parts we produce are a new technology in the Aerospace PCB industry and as market leaders there are are tough learning curves and high pressure delivery schedules.
The most enjoyable part of the job is meeting targets and seeing the company grow and maintain its position as market leader in the industry.

I was assembly operator/ solderer who main duty's were assembling interconnect products, wiring looms and connectors.
I learned to work to the top most level of quality and various soldering qualifications and assembly related qualifications.
Management was superior at my time of leaving constantly developing the company site and pushing it forward.
My coworkers were skilled and friendly.
The hardest part of the job is maintaining a outstanding level of quality and OTD. The most enjoyable part of the job was the proud feeling you got knowing what your work of exceptional quality was going into a military vehicle.

- Hard to please everyone at once, strong need to prioritise and
work under pressure.
- Most enjoyable part is help customers daily and provide solutions.

My typical work day will consist of inspecting the quality of the panels / circuits that come into AOI (automated optical inspection).
I have learnt to take my time to ensure 100% quality is assured.
I find it very easy to work with my fellow colleagues and have built a good working relationship with them.
The hardest part of my job is reworking the Outer panels as these are the end results and so extra care is to be taken with these types of boards.
I enjoyed a challenge i.e working on new jobs and creating a new working system within my area.

Every day is different, you never know what you're going to walk into, new design and programmes becoming active, customer help required, commercial packages that require completion, discussion and meetings.Management are faily laissez faire, you are given input, but expected to get on and make a difference. Co-workers are very warm and friendly, the hardest part of the job is the frustration, so many good people, but limited focuse preventing further sucess. Enjoy the people i work with, friendly atmosphere, plenty of banter as well as productive outputs.

Poor training/support. No direction or guidance. Manager and colleagues were too busy dealing with daily issues to have any long-term structure to work. I left due to limited progression opportunities or career development

Dealing with all incoming calls, responsible for nightly backups, changing tapes, and collating information. Collecting of daily post, sorting. Dealing with user problems, and providing complete administrative support to programmers and any other staff.

I learnt IT skills within the company system.
