If you love archaeology and live in the midlands then this is the perfect position, working across the country with the opportunity to learn skills field assistants would not normal gain.

However the work/life balance with the company his very strongly work, as with construction trades, where you will be week to week is unknown until a Friday,  This means evening activites, doctors appointments, birthdays, gigs, dinners out, and having pets is not really an option whether booked months in advance or not, don't expect to be able to do anything much outside of work. 

The staff there are really easy to work with, they are so willing to share and enhance knowledge.

However you will be expected to do A LOT of travelling, in your personal time and your own vehicle, UNPAID. If you have a morgage then the salary (which is normal for this level of job) makes it a financially untenable job, alongside not being at home a great deal, it is a job for a singleton with no large financial commitments.

The company culture is based around learning and developing. If you are looking to progress your career then working for ARS is great move! The company has supported me over the last few years to get to where I am today.  

The staff themselves are mostly great, particularly field staff, however the higher up managers really make the company suffer and give it the reputation it is unfortunately known for.
