I am writing to provide honest feedback regarding my experience working with this company, which I regret to say was extremely disappointing overall.
First and foremost, the standard of cleaning practices was unhygienic and fell far below acceptable industry standards. Proper protocols and safe methods were not consistently followed, which raises significant concerns for health and safety. Additionally, company equipment was frequently broken or faulty, yet there was no process in place to repair or replace it in a timely manner, making it impossible to carry out work to a proper standard.
The management structure was severely lacking. There was no meaningful support, guidance, or communication from leadership when issues arose; concerns were dismissed rather than addressed. Furthermore, the behaviour of some staff members was unprofessional and rude, creating a tense and unwelcoming atmosphere.

Overall, this is a very poor work environment that does not value quality, safety, or its workforce. I would not recommend this company to any skilled, conscientious cleaner seeking fair conditions or the opportunity to deliver proper work.

Working here has been an absolute privilege and a truly rewarding experience. The team is fantastically diverse, bringing together a wealth of perspectives, ideas, and talents that make every day dynamic and inspiring. The great banter among colleagues creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it a joy to come to work.

A typical day can start once the children have useually left the premises. You maybe allocated areas to clean classrooms, toilets, office spaces. You may be called upon to do extra areas due to staff shortages. 

As you can imagine the toilets can be in a not very nice state, an you may be given only a set time to do them. Same for classrooms due to crafts, cooking, they can be very messy and time consuming. An again you may only be given a window of time to do them in. 

I learned about using diffrent chemicals, diffrent equipment, time management. 

My area manager was a nice enough person, I feel they were stressed due to lack of staffing and covering other areas. Only minimal praise and feedback, more negative which was demoralising.

The hardest part of the job - was the amount to do in a certain amount of time, staff shortages, negative feedback.

The most enjoyable part of the job - good co workers, when a job was completed and you did receive positive feedback, getting paid 

My school cleaning site is designed to be for a 10hrs per week scenario. In terms of deep cleaning, schedules are at 3 times per academic year. 
These are also at 10hrs with the main August one being 20hrs. Depending on your site supervisor these could be taken over as many days as you want. For my situation, they did consider having 3 days of 3 1/2hrs for the 10hr and 4 days of 5hrs for the 20hrs. 

For the terms, these sessions are at 2hrs minimum but that is dependant on the contract and site you choose to apply for.  A standard workday can be energetic and fast-paced but that is also dependant on how many rooms/sections you are allocated on that site.
Your supervisor can jump in to assist you when they are available.


The only positive to doing a school for cleaning is the ability to have holidays of more than a week every couple of months. The negatives here. Lack of staff covers if anyone is absent. You have to reduce the time you usually place into your planned section in order to reach all areas within the min 2hrs you are allocated. Overtime is paid however is only slightly more than your current hour rate. I also picked up additional hours due to staff departure however felt like a bit of a stab in the back as they are now filling that spot with someone new. They don’t give you a chance to explain yourself either if something does go wrong. In all honesty avoid

They don’t explain from the beginning in the interview what are you doing exactly…Wrong with payments some times …they put targets but don’t know the areas and ask for more and with less people …Management doesn’t answer in time when you need them 
If you work as a supervisor guest what your not a supervisor you are a full time cleaner .
 need to buy what you need for cleaning..they don’t have or don’t care maybe about chemicals or materials

…overall DON’T RECOMMEND 


I have hired and work for this company In the Beginning of February’ 2020 for  5 days work and not get paid,don’t know if I’m officially employed and left without notice.when I started the job and been told that 4/5 people including myself working for and when I started just days two people left..then me and my cleaning supervisor have to do all the work..it’s makes it harder for me when my Ssupervisor accusing

The most awful company I have ever worked for the area manager was shockingly rude all of the time! my wages were never correct, holiday pay was never payed unless I chased it, the school I worked at was always understaffed so I was doing double the work for minimum wage, and then getting moaned at because tops of doors weren’t getting dusted! If you want to work your butt off for minimum wage for rude managers who don’t like paying you then I whole heartedly recommend birkin

I only cleaned the school for about 2 hours in the afternoon.
You meet a lot of people, and keep extremely busy. There is loads of work to keep up with, hoovering, class rooms, hall ways, toilets. Then you would have to mop, wipe down tables and change all the bins. Thoroughly clean all the toilets. My co workers were a pleasure to work with, we helped each other out when and whilst we could. I learnt how to clean properly.

This company is run by unprofessional people, and they have problems with the pay . You need to chase your wages all the time, they don’t pay properly over time, they change management every couple of month, they are rude, in my humble opinion is a very bad company to work for. The only good thing I experienced was the team I worked with. Lovely sad I had to leave them. But Birkin is the worst company I have work ever
