Going to give my personal experience. I find this trust very complicated and delayed to start. During the interview stage, the process is simple and the interviewers are welcoming and friendly. However, once you get to the stage where you have to complete training, uniform and book bank shift. The team can be very confusing. I had numerous problems with the departments not communicating with each other. I would complete training but it wouldn't be registered. This will delay me receiving my uniform to start. There training dates can also be far ahead so you could be waiting a while. But during this time, you would think everything else would be getting completed. In my experience this didn't happen. There was no uniform for a few weeks and I was wasbt informed until I made contact. Although I understand these things may happen with a lot of new starts, they never followed anything up for weeks and I would always have to contact them to see what the next stage was. It became very daunting and hard to communicate via email. As they hardly answered the phones. It's a shame as stated above at the interview the team seemed lovely to work with. But your unable to start until you get through the admin process. And although I passed the training, there was a delay with everything else so I could not start for approx 2months. I finally asked again about the uniform and was directed to another person. So I decided to leave it in the end, as I could only imagine how difficult shifts would be to book. If you have time to wait before starting, then I would reccomend this trust based on the nursing staff you would work with. 

Birmingham Community Healthcare Trust isn't a bad place to work and there is always work available here. i wish there was some form of secretary with jobs as there are a lot of cuts being made at this moment in time. 

I have noticed within my 3 and a half ywars of working here that there are manyu departments who do not have permanent members of staff but they are happy to keep Foxed-Term or Agency and Bank staff. This is not a company that I feel like i can stay in any longer so I feel like I am Basically being forced to leave this company and go to another one. 

Sometimes Managers don't help the situation either because they never give positive information and they are willing to keep people for a lower pay who can't even do the job correctly.

I would just advise to rethink before applying for the NHS as the Banding is never fair either, I feel like the amount of work that we do for what we get paid is not correct. People get paid Band 3 pay when they are doing Band 5 work, where is the justice in that?

A typical day would involve, working as a team,supporting service users with all their personal care needs, assisting with feeding if required and completing daily nursing notes.
Since working for the trust I had learned the importance of working as a team ,maintaining an empathetic approach towards service users feelings, promoting choice and independence and utilizing manual handling equipment.
Whilst working for the trust I did not experience any issues with management,
I thought that the trust employed a mixture of individuals from different cultural back grounds.
I thought the hardened part of the job was having to cope with the demands of the ward when the hospital was short staffed.
I enjoyed meeting services users form all walks of life and found it very rewarding when I was able to contribute to making a difference within individual lives

What is the best part of working at the company?
Free car parking, lovely immediate line manager, very pleasant domestic staff, plenty of bank shifts, commitment to learning

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Disgraceful behaviour of senior management who absolutely do not care one jot about their staff..instead they are still sat at home pressing laptop buttons and making up ridiculous new ideas to add more paperwork and stress onto clinicians. Clinicians should be managed by clinicians

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Complacency is completely ignored. If my face was non-white, I would automatically be promoted to do even less (&get away with it) in a senior role

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Used to be flexible working..the only perk of job. Now that has been taken away..colleagues will be leaving in droves

I enjoy my job and like my colleagues.  There is a lot of other departments that aren't so good to work for.  I have had the misfortune to work in those during redeployment in covid times.  The rehab wards management don't appreciate their staff or the hcas, nurses etc.  They micro manage the staff, hence a lot of unhappy staff. 
A lot of leavers too but the penny hasn't dropped yet!  There's a lot of bad managers, toxic people who work in this trust.  They seem to do well here and progress up the bands.  The trust has lost a good deal of great staff, admin, clinical etc too.  These people have given their exit interviews but it doesn't change things!  Why haven't the directors noticed the high turnover in certain places and investigated.
The dental dept seems to be a deffinate toxic place to work.

I take telephone calls from clients,Police, social services and safeguarding nurses regarding clients, also dealing with inquires via  e-mails, fax's, inputting information on the computer regarding clients visits to the A&E department, also dealing with police incidents.
I type court reports, core reviews for Health Visitor's, I also book clients in for development clinic's for nursery nurses, I deal with calls from Senior Management. I also deal with incoming and  outgoing post.

Meeting the requirements of nursing homes hospitals and care center within the NHS Trust i work for.
managing a 3 person team to fill over 10.000 shifts per month with internal NHS staff and external agencies.
Recruiting and interviewing potential and new starters.
Ensuring compliance is complete on all staff.
Adhering to Data protection Act 
ensuring "safe Staffing" levels are met 
Leading on conference calls to the heads of service to inform of staffing short falls within units.
Use of bespoke computing systems/software as well as Microsoft office

I have worked for the company now for nearly 18 months but am looking at a new nursing challenge,  job conditions are satisfactory but want to leave the NHS sector now and am looking to work privately, working hours are 8.30 till 5 and I just work the occasional weekend, I have learnt a lot of skills since working in the community especially wound care,   The hardest part of the job is the stress of their not being enough staff which has a big impact on my days work where it becomes exceptionally busy, and sometimes the driving from patient to patient becomes intense,  I have come  to a point now where I want to face a new challenge

Each Business Analyst knew which services we were assigned to and it was our responsibility to contact the senior stakeholders and SMEs to book meetings and workshops. 
In this role I learned how to use Visio more effectively to create process maps and how to facilitate benefits realisation in meetings. The management team where supportive and efficient. The co-workers where really nice and we worked together really well, we developed strong working and social relationships. There were no challengers in this role. I throughly enjoyed working with the people on this project.
